Confidesk for desktop
Download the desktop app
A fully PGP-compatible email client that keeps working offline, searches your mail, and stores everything encrypted on your own device. Included with Pro and Advanced.
Before you download
- The desktop app needs a Pro or Advanced account. Trial and Free accounts can't sign in to it — the web app is always available to everyone.
- On Linux, pick the package your distribution uses —
.debfor Debian, Ubuntu and Mint,.rpmfor Fedora, RHEL and openSUSE. The AppImage runs anywhere else without installing. Most machines are 64-bit (x86_64); choose ARM only if you know yours is, such as a Raspberry Pi or an ARM virtual machine.uname -mtells you. - On Windows, the installer is signed by Confidesk Limited — Windows verifies the publisher when it runs. Most machines are 64-bit; pick ARM only if you know yours is, such as a Surface Pro X or a Copilot+ PC.
- On a Mac, this build runs on Apple Silicon only. If your Mac has an Intel processor it won't run — use Confidesk in your browser instead. Not sure? Apple menu → About This Mac: if it says Apple M1 (or M2, M3, M4), you're on Apple Silicon.

What the desktop app adds
- Search your mail — full text, across everything stored on your device. This can't exist in the browser: the index would have to be written to disk, leaving a decrypted copy of your mailbox behind on the machine.
- Works offline — read and write with no connection; it syncs when you're back.
- Your other mailboxes — connect any IMAP or POP account alongside your Confidesk mail.
The app checks for updates itself, so once you're installed you'll be told when a new version is out.
